Outsourcing HR Administration, Compliance, and Daily Tasks.

Get back to work! A Small Business Association study revealed that the average small business owner spends up to 45% of their time dealing with employee related documentation, general HR duties, and recruiting/ hiring. I’m certain these intrepid entrepreneurs didn’t start these ventures because they were passionate about paperwork and payroll. Of course the larger a company’s workforce the more duties ownership can delegate. However, in our experience we see similar challenges with medium sized companies as well...

Here instead of ownership taking on critical HR duties, the responsibility is often shared among other high level employees. At the very least these executives are often tasked with heavily involved oversight. Whether it be dealing with benefits plan challenges or the need to comply with a growing number of employee related government regulations, it raises the question: Would the company be better served having these highly skilled assets focusing on their core competency?

Simply put, an effective and thorough HR effort will require a serious time and resource commitment. Benefits planning, employee file maintenance, payroll/time sheet monitoring, performance evaluations, employee development and retention programs, compliance, all have to be done with care and precision. Could outsourcing or dramatically reducing your in-house HR function be a potential solution for your company? In our next newsletter we will take a look at a few outsourcing options and discuss the pros and cons. Perhaps with the right partner you can simply outsource your HR and get back to work!
